Body is Babushka

Thinking through repetition and imitation, I recreated footage that was taken of my grandmother in the 70’s in Ukraine. The inter-generational body is reconciled while also highlighting the slight variations in the process of imitation. The imperfections signify a dissonance that is a nod to grief and the way time separates physical connection over time. Debuted as an installation at Bard-College-Berlin.
